About:
A statement piece in this collection, "Skull Island," draws inspiration from the element of water and the surf community.
The composition features two skulls, in the orientation of yin and yang, representing the landscape of a surfer's paradise.
The ombre effect on the skulls aims to capture the serene transition of water seen at eye level. The skulls are painted using airbrush automotive paint and a blue pearl additive. The base, sculpted from solid resin, creates a dynamic and unexpected color swirl of teal, blues, and white. The front drip was then sculpted as a compositional element for the piece.
Completing the narrative are the "army of surfer dudes," representing the freedom to carve into the landscape and conquer their paradise as a united community.
